Hey would you look at that! Been a while since I sat down and wrote up a devlog about my project.
Since last time, a lot has happened. Further changes to the ranged combat, as bows feel too powerful when given full 360 degrees of aiming, instead players are now locked into 8 directions. I also added a new weapon to the game, the shiv. The intent behind this weapon is that it is the one every run will start with. The other option was to give the player a random weapon out of the weapon pool, but that just doesn't sit right with me, last thing I want is for people having to "reset" until they get a weapon that they want. But I also don't want people to have 100% free choice. So the shiv is hopefully going to slot nicely into a starter weapon that most people will trade out withing the first level or two.
To incentivize people experimenting, the shiv can't have any modifiers applied directly to it. But will still scale with any modifiers that apply to the character themselves.
Aside from that, I gladly announce that Throne of Marrow has 2 additional songs, 8 sound effects. Enhanced weather effects with better utilization of a particle system. Bug fixes, also laying the ground work for an options menu so you all can change resolutions, audio settings, controls etc.
And yeah, the tutorial, still working on it but I feel like I have all the parts I want to directly communicate to the player so that they are ready to take on Marrowhold.
